I studied fine art at Stellenbosch university, South Africa, majoring in painting and ceramics.
I spent many years teaching and painting in South Africa, then moved to Scotland to live with my husband, Ludo, whom I met whilst studying meditation in India. Co-incidently we live in the same part of Scotland from which my ancestors left in about 1850.
Durness has such striking landscapes- strong mountains and beautiful beaches, and the colours change with every season....great inspiration .....I find myself moving from expressive oil paintings to increasingly abstracted acrylic paintings....often finding spiral shapes turning up in my work like ancient watermarks......
I paint mostly in oils and acrylics on canvas, and most of my work is available as limited edition prints. I also do small collages. New work will be added to the Gallery as it becomes available.
